Inductees into the Rhode Island Heritage Hall of Fame

The Rhode Island Heritage Hall of Fame was founded in March 1965 to honor the contributions of those whose efforts, in any line of endeavor, have added significantly to the heritage of the State of Rhode Island. Eligible membership may include those who are native born, those whose reputations have been made while residents of the state, and those who have adopted Rhode Island as their permanent home.

Procedures for Nominating Candidates for Induction into the RIHHOF

A person to be nominated for induction should have had an impact on our state and its citizens. This may have been achieved through significant activities at:

  • National, State or Local levels
  • Professional endeavors
  • Philanthropy
  • Military service

After a nominator has determined that their candidate meets one or more of the criteria above, according to Article VI of the Rhode Island Heritage Hall of Fame By-Laws, the nominator must:

  • Determine their candidate agrees to being nominated.
  • Have their candidate agree to being present for the induction ceremony.
  • Provide a letter of introduction regarding their candidate highlighting their significant accomplishments.
  • Provide a resume of their candidate not to exceed 15 pages.

The above material needs to submitted to the RIHHOF President not later than 31 October of the year previous to the induction year.
