The late Dr. Eric Denhoff, 1913-1982, a native of Providence and co-founder of the famed Meeting Street School for children with disabilities and developmental delays. He volunteered his services as Meeting Street’s medical director for 35 years, until his death in 1982.He was internationally recognized as a pioneer in the early detection of and treatment for children with cerebral palsy and other disabilities, as a practicing pediatric neurologist, scientist, author, and teacher whose memory is honored with the Annual Eric Denhoff Memorial Symposium on Child Development, established at Rhode Island Hospital.
